Why I Want A Single-Player World of Warcraft

Massively Multiplayer, Online Role-Playing video games have served a tremendous amount of hours to many players around the globe. They are virtual worlds filled with hours of entertainment, granting the player virtual achievements and moments of happiness and triumph.

Unfortunately, they can be rather short lived. The MMORPG’s that we have once played have changed considerably and some have even vanished from the internet, leaving private servers to keep the nostalgia going.

World of Warcraft is an old MMORPG that has been able to stay alive through all of the revolutions and changes that the genre has gone through. It is the most successful MMORPG out their. Yet, its online world has gone through many different changes that either made players happy or made them want to stop playing the game, altogether.

The primary issue I have with MMORPGs is that once they shut down, they are essentially gone, forever. Furthermore, once they change and expand, they pretty much stay that way. This means that the fun you once had in World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will no longer be available, once the game evolves into World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria. The game pretty much changes and adapts for newer experiences, making the older experiences easier and sometimes less enjoyable. The newer version of the game could also change a mechanic that you’ve once loved into something totally different, or remove it completely.

I want to play at my own pace, without having to worry about upcoming changes.

As the years go by, technology evolves and so do the things we were once entertained by. Nothing is excluded from this essential part of life. This means that while you are still grinding to level 60 in the vanilla version of World of Warcraft, the game will soon be updated to the Burning Crusade, leaving you behind. This expansion will increase the level cap to 70, make older content easier to farm, and remove achievements that you most likely will never be able to obtain, due to the evolving virtual world that is the World of Warcraft and…
